Our Programs:

Arena Soccer

Through our partnership with the Ecke Family YMCA, Los Angelitos sponsors Challenger Arena Soccer teams each Winter and Spring. Since our first team of 15 children in the Spring of 2008 we have expanded to approximately 22 teams for each Winter & Spring season since 2011.
After School Care Program & Trailblazers

Since 2009 Los Angelitos has worked collaboratively with Encinitas Union School District (EUSD) and Paul Ecke Central (PEC) School in an effort to provide low-income children affordable after school care and academic assistance.
Our initial offering was a once a week sports and exercise program for 1st-6th graders run in partnership with the Ecke Family YMCA. We also sponsored a joint program with ClassAct Arts, a local arts non-profit, bringing art and drama to PEC school.
In Spring 2011 we expanded on that original model providing 40 children greatly reduced after school care fees, 5 days a week, from the termination of the school day until 5:30pm. This program provided a snack, homework help, exercise and arts & crafts on a daily basis.
In 2019, following our model, Encinitas Union School District implemented their own affordable after school programming at PEC School. Their program serves all students including the most in need children and families at the school.
Over the years Los Angelitos has collaborated with local high school students that volunteer their time once a week in the after school program at PEC elementary school. These Trailblazers, as they are called, work with and mentor our after school children focusing on literacy and reading skills.

Recreational Soccer

Through our partnership with Encinitas Soccer League(ESL), Los Angelitos provides outreach and financial support for over 200 low-income children in our community to participate in ESL's fall youth soccer program. We began this effort in 2009 supporting 40 children. Previously, these families could not afford the fees associated with participating in an organized soccer league.
Swimming Lessons
Through our Los Angelitos Safe Swim Initiative and in partnership with the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA we have expanded our swim class opportunities and now provide up to 100 low income children with swim lessons throughout the year. Schedules are based on the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Swim Lesson Sessions.
